Has one ever stopped to think about why we live in a world void of Love?
War, famine, greed, ego, selfishness, gluttony, betrayal, materialism, disconnection, disembodiment, abandonment, separation, self-righteousness and pure hatred to one another are commonplace.
Why are we so void of love on a collective scale?
The primitive brain of both the mother and baby are hardwired through thousands and thousands of years of human cellular evolution. When the baby emerges through a sacred dance of hormones the mother’s body is expecting a baby on her chest to feed and nourish after the birth process. Her breasts are filled with colostrum and the baby is expecting to be close to the mother’s heartbeat, smelling her smells and absorbing her microbes. This, signals SAFETY for mother and baby. No separation, no fear. Just pure Maternal love.
In today’s world, during birth in the medical model, our primitive brain senses danger and fear, inhibiting oxytocin, the hormone of love and connection.
Maternal love is crucial for a civilization of emotionally stable and secure adults. Research has shown that disturbed birth is associated with self-destructive behaviors such as violence, drug addiction, suicide, eating disorders, behavioral disorders and autism!!
Now, imagine generation after generation experiencing a traumatic lineage of birth.
We need to start questioning whether this system really understands birth and most importantly if this system understands the importance of Love? I certainly don’t think it does.
